The next presidential elections in Brazil can lead to power Jair Bolsonaro of extreme right, of fascist tendency, or Fernando Haddad of left, of socialist tendency. It is quite clear that those who support Bolsonaro consider unacceptable the rise of Haddad to power that would mean the return of PT (Workers Party) and its allies to the government of Brazil and those who support Haddad consider the right in power unacceptable if Bolsonaro wins the presidential elections. Brazil is a deeply divided country because Jair Bolsonaro is the preferred candidate of the economic and financial elite, the traditional elite, the corporate elite of the big offices, the elite of the new rich, the rural elite, the corporate elite and the upper middle class and Fernando Haddad is the preferred candidate of the petty bourgeoisie and the urban and rural proletariat who have antagonistic objectives.
The country may be convulsed, in these circumstances, by political violence between left and right. This means that neither Bolsonaro nor Haddad will acquire the conditions of governability. To govern, Bolsonaro can count on the support of the economically dominant classes and will have the support of part of civil society that is extremely fractured. Haddad will be able to count on the support of part of civil society that is extremely divided but will not have the support of the economically dominant classes. They are wrong those who think that the result of the elections will be accepted by those who are defeated and that governability can only be achieved with the support of the majority of Parliament in an extremely divided society like Brazil.
The conflict between ideological extremes will inevitably lead Brazil to an unprecedented social conflagration in its history, which may result in the establishment of a fascist dictatorship of the extreme right, either with Bolsonaro’s victory or with Haddad’s victory that will not be sustained in power. The fascist dictatorship that is explicit in Bolsonaro’s discourse is based on the cult of order, on state violence, on authoritarian government practices, on social disregard for vulnerable and fragile groups, and on anti-communism. The Bolsonaro danger lies in oppression, machismo, homophobia, racism, hatred of the poor. History tells us that once it reaches power, the fascists can destroy the last vestiges of a democratic government in Brazil. The only way to avoid the implantation of a fascist dictatorship and to conquer social peace in Brazil is the election of the most capable candidate to celebrate a social pact between the right and left forces in confrontation who is Ciro Gomes who, besides presenting an economic proposal capable of overcoming the current economic crisis, he is, according to the electoral polls, the only presidential candidate who can defeat in the second round the right-wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro.
It is in the hands of the voters of Geraldo Alckmin, Marina Silva and the other candidates to vote in Ciro Gomes so that he defeats Fernando Haddad in the first round of the elections and is able to face Jair Bolsonaro in the second round and defeat him in the presidential elections. This would be the solution that could prevent the victory of Bolsonaro and Haddad, to avoid the social convulsion, the exacerbation of the political violence and the consequent implantation of a fascist dictatorship in Brazil. Therefore, if the Brazilian people want to prevent the fascist dictatorship from being implanted and social peace in Brazil is won, Ciro Gomes must be elected President of the Republic..
