SYNOPSIS OF THE BOOK
In the 21st century the world faces three major global crises: 1) the predictable end of capitalism as a dominant economic system; 2) the environmental degradation of planet Earth and, 3) the escalation of international conflicts. The possibility of these crises threatening the survival of humanity places on the agenda the need to invent the future in order to change the world in which we live. The expression Inventing the Future to Change the Worlddenotes the design or proposal for the creation of a world diametrically opposed to the one in which we live.
The purpose of this book is to propose changes to the economic, political, social, international and environmental systems of our planet, to overcome the crises that threaten the future of humanity and to prevent its collapse. In addition to Chapter 1 (Introduction), this book comprises Chapter 2 (The predictable end of capitalism as a dominant economic system in the 21st century), Chapter 3 (The environmental degradation of planet Earth in the 21st century), Chapter 4 (The escalation of international conflicts in the 21st century), and Chapter 5 (Inventing the future to change the world).
This book is essentially dedicated to building a future that promotes economic and social development to be shared by the entire world population, as well as environmental sustainability to preclude the depletion of the planet’s natural resources and the catastrophic climate change, contributing toward communal coexistence among all human beings. The cover of the book shows that the world of the future to be built must be based on the Triptych: ”economic and social progress,” ”environmental sustainability” and “world peace.”
