This article aims to demonstrate that four major actors are responsible for the increase in international tensions in the world that could lead to the outbreak of the 3rd World War. These actors are the following: 1) The United States government that seeks to avoid the loss of its hegemony in the world, threatened by Russia and China, respectively, in the military and economic fields; 2) US war industry that seeks to expand arms sales with the spread of wars in the world to increase its profits; 3) UN that remains passive and inoperative in the search for world peace, and, 4) Great capitalist powers led by the United States that can unleash a new world war to prevent the debacle of the world capitalist system.
To find out why the US government, the US arms industry, the UN and the US-led major capitalist powers could trigger World War 3, read the 13-page text of this article. The conclusions drawn from this article are as follows:
1. The bellicose action of the government of the United States and the countries of the European Union against Russia with the expansion of NATO is being complemented with the adoption of economic and financial sanctions against the government of Russia to lead it to bankruptcy and contribute to the overthrow of Vladimir Putin from power. All these actions by the US government and European allies contribute to Putin being able to radicalize in order to save Russia and himself. The outbreak of World War 3 could occur if Russia’s economic and financial suffocation threatens to destabilize Putin’s power at home.
2. To stop the rise of China as the hegemonic power on the planet, the US military strategy is centered on the Asia-Pacific region. As an ally of the United States, Japan collaborates with the American strategy of “encircling” China, strengthening its military power.
3. The US government’s military strategy of creating a new Asia-Pacific version of NATO to fight China is quite evident. The new Asia-Pacific version of NATO tends to intensify the US government’s conflict with China in the same way that NATO does with Russia.
4. The risk of the outbreak of the 3rd World War is placed as a real possibility of happening, including the use of nuclear weapons.
5. There is no doubt that the US arms industry sponsors wars like Ukraine’s as it has promoted other wars in the past to make a profit. The record production of weapons, increasingly lethal and surgical, needs to be put to work in practice. Of the 10 largest arms manufacturers in the world, six are North American, and five of them are leaders in the global arms industry.
6. The United Nations (UN) was born from the rubble of World War II, representing humanity’s aspirations for peace and security. The UN’s mission is to promote peace among nations, cooperate with sustainable development, monitor the fulfillment of human rights and fundamental freedoms and organize meetings and conferences in support of these objectives. However, the UN has not contributed towards promoting world peace by assuming a passive stance since the end of the 2nd World War and, on the contrary, is contributing to its intensification in the case of the war in Ukraine with the approved resolutions against Russia by the General Assembly, including the expulsion of this country from the Human Rights Council.
7. The world capitalist system is inevitably heading towards its end in the middle of the 21st century when the global rate of profit and the growth rate of the Gross World Product will reach zero value. The bases of Karl Marx’s theory presented in his work Capital are being confirmed. Another important sign of the decay of capitalism is the gigantic global debt, which reached US$ 275 trillion in 2020 in government, corporate and domestic debt, almost three times the World Gross Product, which constitutes a bomb ready to explode.
8. The capitalist system is a system that operates according to the principle of entropy because it evolves with a universal tendency to evolve towards increasing disorder and self-destruction. This situation is demonstrated by the downward trend in the global profit rate and the growth rate of the World Gross Product, which will reach zero in the middle of the 21st century, as well as the excessive indebtedness of the countries of the world, especially, the United States, China and Japan that is unsustainable.
9. Faced with this catastrophic economic scenario for the world capitalist system, the rulers of the great capitalist powers under the leadership of the United States may resort to World War 3 to give survival to capitalism in the world as occurred with the outbreak of the 1st and 2nd World War.
